Amos declares the justice of the Lord against nations and against His own people who have turned from righteousness. Though Israel appears prosperous, their worship is empty and their society is marked by oppression, corruption, and disregard for the covenant. The Lord exposes their sin and warns that judgment is certain, showing that privilege does not exempt His people from accountability. Yet the book does not end without hope, as God promises a future restoration of His people and the rebuilding of what has been broken. Amos reveals that the Lord desires justice and righteousness, and that His purposes will stand even after judgment has fallen.
