Leviticus reveals the holiness of God and the cost of dwelling in His presence. Having redeemed Israel from Egypt, the Lord now instructs His people how to approach Him through sacrifice, priesthood, and covenant obedience. The sacrificial system exposes both the seriousness of sin and the mercy of atonement, while the Day of Atonement stands at the center as a reminder that cleansing comes only through blood. God calls His people to be holy because He is holy, setting them apart from the nations. Leviticus shows that redemption requires not only deliverance, but purification and ongoing covenant faithfulness before a holy God.
