Jonah

Jonah reveals the mercy of God toward both His prophet and the nations. When the Lord sends Jonah to warn Nineveh, he resists and flees, exposing the tension between God’s compassion and human reluctance. Through discipline and deliverance, Jonah is brought back to obedience, and the people of Nineveh respond with repentance when they hear the warning. Yet the book ends by confronting Jonah’s own heart, revealing that God’s mercy extends beyond Israel to all who turn to Him. Jonah shows that the Lord is both just and compassionate, desiring repentance rather than destruction, and that His purposes reach far beyond human boundaries.
